Closets and dressing rooms: the decisions made before building

Internal layout, hanging heights, lighting and hardware. What must be resolved on paper so the dressing room works every day.

Contents first, furniture second

A dressing room isn't designed by linear metres, it's designed around what it will hold. How much long hanging, how much short, how many drawers, whether there are tall shoes, suitcases or bags that need their own module.

Skip that conversation and the typical result is a beautiful piece with modules nobody uses and no room for what's actually stored daily.

What gets defined on the drawings

Hanging and shelf heights, usable depth, number and height of drawers, mirror positions, interior lighting provisions and the opening direction of every door. All of it is delivered in the redrawn furniture and approved before fabrication.

We also review ceiling height, floor level variations and any interference — a socket, an air-conditioning access panel — that constrains the piece.

Hardware: where daily use shows

A dressing room opens and closes thousands of times a year. We carry several hardware brands and choose by the client's real use, not by catalogue, and everything is tested before installation.

Drawer runners, soft-close hinges, sliding door systems and integrated pulls aren't aesthetic details: they decide whether the piece still feels the same years from now.

Materials and structure

Frames are built to carry the piece's real load, and on site everything is levelled and squared before installation is considered done. A poorly levelled dressing room gives itself away: the doors stop aligning.

See the closets and dressing rooms service for delivered projects, or read why we work in solid wood and plywood instead of particle board.
